About Us

At Yarl Beach Inn, hospitality is more than a service—it is a legacy.

Our story begins with the vision of Mr. Soosai Siluvairasa (1938–2017), a pioneer in Sri Lanka’s hospitality industry. Born in Jaffna, he started his journey at just 14 years old, working in the government-owned Jaffna restaurant. With a natural flair for management and a passion for service, he went on to lead the Maria Hotel (1966–1971) before branching into various entrepreneurial ventures in food, bakeries, and exports.

In 1981, his vision came to life with the founding of Yarl Beach Inn, a charming tourist hotel nestled within the historic Queen Mary Dutch building. Over the decades, the inn became a hub for travelers from around the world, drawn to its unique combination of heritage, comfort, and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality.

Despite challenges, including the civil war and a devastating bomb blast in 1990, Mr. Siluvairasa’s resilience and dedication never wavered. He continued to manage guest houses in Colombo, Mannar, and Trincomalee, entrusted by the North–East Provincial Council, before returning to Jaffna in 2003 to restore and re-establish Yarl Beach Inn.

Behind his remarkable journey stood Mrs. Siluvairasa Pathimamalar, his constant source of strength, wisdom, and support. Together, they built more than a hotel—they created a place of warmth, welcome, and unforgettable memories.

Today, Yarl Beach Inn continues this legacy, offering well-appointed rooms, catering services, and event facilities—all set against the serene beauty of Jaffna’s coastline. We take pride in welcoming every guest with the same warmth and personal care that defined Mr. Siluvairasa’s vision.

Whether you are visiting for leisure, business, or exploration, Yarl Beach Inn is more than just a stay—it is a story of resilience, hospitality, and heritage.
